I prefer the oringinal title, but I can see why they changed it. The ghost will get peoples attention more! Or maybe the some may think it's a film about a ghost writing a book!!!! Which ever i liked the original one!
The film directed by Roman Polanski, adapted by Robert Harris from his own novel and starring Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan, Olivia Williams and Kim Carttrall.
Slow burning thriller, which never really excities or gets very thrilling did enough to just be entertaining. Though not really going anywhere fast, it was really well acted and directed which possible saves it from being just an average thriller.
One thing I did like the script was excellent, to me it didn't have that movie vibe running through it, sounded a lot more real! Not the easiest thing to explain, but I know what I mean!
Brosnan and McGregor and brilliant and the supporting cast add some major weight as well, but these two really carry the film.
The music was good from what I can recall.
Overall I did enjoy it (7/10)
This was in every sense a noir thriller very typical of Polanski. If you liked Chinatown and Frantic you will like this. It's not Hitchcock but probably as near as you'll get at the moment. The cast were all very good but I'm still not sure Ewan McGregor was right for the main lead (I didn't care much for the character but maybe this was the script rather than the actor). Overall the film held together well 7/10
